About Beginner Chess Club (Year 1)

Location: Early Years - Room 36

Our Introduction to Chess Club is a fun and engaging session for children who would like to build on their basic knowledge of chess. Open to all abilities, this club provides a supportive environment where children can learn, practice, and grow in confidence while enjoying the game. During each session, children will develop their understanding of how the pieces move, simple strategies, and basic game skills through fun activities, guided play, and friendly games. The club encourages thinking skills, concentration, patience, and problem-solving in an enjoyable and age-appropriate way. Our friendly leaders ensure every child feels supported and included, helping them to build confidence and enjoy learning at their own pace. This club is a great opportunity for children to develop new skills, make friends, and discover the enjoyment of chess.
