School Uniform

A tradition for 70 years

A tradition for 70 years

The Pointers purple and green uniform makes us stand out in the crowd!

Our distinctive uniform was originally based on the Wimbledon All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club uniforms. The school's founders, Dela and Muriel Pointer, were big tennis fans and the African Violet uniform has remained ever since.

It is compulsory for all pupils attending the school to wear the full school uniform as outlined below.

How to buy

Our uniform is exclusively supplied by Stevensons.

Stevensons is the largest independent school uniform and sportswear provider in the UK serving over 550 schools nationwide. Pupils should use the school backpacks to transport items to and from school (e.g. books, PE items, swimming kit) and also to take on school trips and visits.

Name labels/stamps

Please note that your child’s name should be placed by means of a name tape or permanent ink on all items of clothing and equipment. Young children often misplace personal articles and this simple procedure will certainly help our staff in identifying clothing/equipment. We recommend Stamptastic for easy labelling.

Coats and blazers

Parents should also be aware that it is mandatory that all boys and girls wear their blazers (in the correct size) to school throughout the year. Furthermore, from the Autumn half-term to the end of the Spring Term the school coat, PE coat or waterproof must be worn over the top of the blazer. An ‘either/or’ policy does not exist.

Second-hand uniform

It may be of interest to some parents that the school has a small stock of good quality second-hand uniform. Second-hand uniform sales occur once a term. Please contact the school office for more information.

Hair and jewellery

Long hair (below chin level) must be tied back, and short hair should be kept neat and out of the face. Only stud earrings may be worn to school.  Dangling or hoop earrings may not be worn.  No other jewellery is permitted.  Hair ornaments, if worn, should be in school colours, not excessive in size, and of regulation type i.e. hairband or “scrunchie”.  No nail varnish or makeup of any kind may be worn.
