About Modern Dance

Location: Pointers - Room 2

Modern dance is a rhythmic dance style rooted in musical theatre which combines creative movement, jazz, lyrical and contemporary styles. Pupils will learn and practice travelling steps, kicks, leaps and turns which all help to develop strength, flexibility, coordination and rhythm. Each term children will also learn a dance routine which will be performed at the end term to give pupils a chance to showcase their skills and give them a sense of achievement and performance.
