The Pointers community, like all around the world, were deeply saddened by the events in Turkey and Syria. We wanted to know what we could do to help.
Mrs Crookes met with the School Council who had some lovely ideas, both practical, and meaningful. They suggested a Coffee Morning in aid of the Save the Children Earthquake Appeal as well as writing prayers to God to ask for his support. They had the touching idea that each member of the school community write a short prayer or thought and this would be offered in the Church at Friday Assembly. They had the excellent idea that if we all read our prayers at the exact same time, this would be our way of shouting at God for his help.
Turn out was fantastic with hot drinks, tasty bacon and egg rolls and moreish croissants provided by Chef Nic and his team. Parents raised £288 in cash alone while also donating directly to Save the Children via QR code. Please see the code in the post if you would still like to donate.
A terrific result that will go directly to helping children in the aftermath of a tragic incident.
