On Friday 15th of October we celebrated Harvest festival at the Pointer School. Pupils and their families brought in food and personal items to donate to those who are struggling as part of our Charity week. Parent volunteers delivered the food to WCCC (Woolwich Common Community Centre) who were rather surprised as they were not expecting quite so much! They were amazed with the volume and said they will even be able to dip into a bit of it to help out some of their struggling local kids who they know are hungry.
The assistant manager at WCCC also volunteers for WSUP which is a drop in centre for homeless people in Woolwich. He mentioned that they are always looking for donations of snacks and bottled water for the take-away lunch packs they distribute twice a week and many need volunteers. If you would be happy to volunteer, please do get in touch with Mrs Murray, the 4M class teacher who will provide you with contact details.
A big thank you to Mrs Murray, Mrs Churchill and the charities committee for organising such a thoughtful and successful week, and also to 4M for their wonderful Harvest festival assembly.
