About Cubing Club

Location: Pointers - Room 9

This club is designed to teach advanced solving methods for the 3x3. It is the opportunity to move from the beginner's method where you might have an average solve time of 1 minute to the more advanced CFOP method where you can become sub-30. This is where you start to solve the cross on the bottom of the cube (C), solve the first two layers simultaneously with a technique known as F2L (F), orientate the last layer in two moves using a series of algorithms (O) and complete the cube through permutation of the last layer (P). We'll also have a number of other cubes to learn including 2x2-7x7, mirror cubes, skewb and pyramix, to name but a few! All club members will get a MagLev cube and we'll have a competition to crown a school champion in the final week. To sign up please ensure that you can already solve the cube on a basic level. A beginners club is coming next year.
