Wednesdays 3:45pm - 4:45pm
Location: Pointers - Room 58
Children will grow and harvest food and will have the satisfaction of seeing the fruits of their labour appear on the school menu. Along the way they will learn more about the bugs and animals that both help and hinder growing food. There’s no better way to get children and young people interested in eating vegetables, herbs and fruit than by giving them the opportunity to grow them. Teaching pupils how to grow organically, as well as how to compost, is a great starting point for introducing them to food sustainability issues. But more importantly, it's great to get muddy, have fun and observe the wonders of nature.
